"Prepare for an impending collapse!" is how the government and the media express the failure of our society's structures to support our lives. During these apocalyptic times, the colonial-capitalist systems are attempting to profit from the crisis by selling nuclear shelters, survival backpacks with essential items, miracle medicines, water purification pills for contaminated water, and dehydrated food meant to last for years. However, none of these are actual solutions to the crisis itself.
Join Mazorca Colectiva in deeply designed healing circles reflecting on collapse. Alongside facilitators from their team, participants will create densely structured poetical work (Haiku), which will then be composted and transformed into something beautiful. After the Haiku, individuals will take time to breathe, connect with their surroundings, and be mindful of the space, including the music, smells, colors, and more. Contemplating the next steps after collapse, they’ll imagine the seeds to plant for a new future and the society that will emerge.
Following this reflection, participants will be invited to create a piece of artwork, such as a free verse poem, a sonnet, or a drawing, representing the seed they hold for a new world.
